Texas dam reno completed

Acres completed a major renovation at the Max Starcke Dam in Central Texas. Fifty-year-old bear-trap type flood gates were replaced by 10 new steel crest gates. The dam is a critical component in the Highland Lakes flood control system.

Flood gate seminar

New associates

Two well-established power industry representation firms are working with the Acres office in Canton, Ohio to promote the interests of the Acres Thermal/T&D Business Unit in the US. Competitive Management Associates (CMA) will cover Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, while Mellinger & Associates will cover Kentucky and Indiana.

Meanwhile in Canada, a strategic association has been formed with The Industrial Company (TIC). TIC is a Colorado-based heavy construction firm with an Alberta subsidiary. The association will strengthen the position of Acres and Acres Parsons E&C in the EPC market.

Akosombo retrofit nearly complete

At the Akosombo GS, in Ghana, Acres returned Unit 5 to the Volta River Authority, rewound, renovated, upgraded and ready for commercial production. One more unit remains in order to complete an upgrading and modernization program which began in 1988.
